The Roman Empire II: Progressing as Expected

If you read enough about the EU and recent developments it becomes obvious that big changes are on the way - changes that are completely consistent with what we would expect as we continue the march to the Tribulation.

Two video summaries make this point.

The first is the latest update from Hal Lindsey and it is definitely worth watching:

Empires Rise and Fall

And this video (below) looks at the astonishing developments in the EU as we see central bankers taking over countries (Greece and Italy) who have never been elected and their "appointments" were made under questionable circumstances:

Dictators by Nature...EU Enters Death Agony

It is tempting to focus solely on the Middle East and Israel in our prophecy watching, but the current developments and changes in the Roman Empire of our age are equally important and equally worth watching.

The "revived" Roman Empire is very much part of biblical "end times" prophecy, and the developments we are seeing in the EU are exactly what we would expect to see: more central control and power, more unelected officials, continual growth, more changes to their "treaty" (don't forget, a true "constitution" was voted down by three countries making it unattainable, so the Lisbon Treaty was enacted instead; a treaty that did not require citizens of the various EU countries to 'approve'), condemnation of Israel, and a central currency, just to name a few.

Now we are seeing two countries taken over by unelected 'leaders' - leaders who are favorable to the central currency and the Eurozone.

If we keep watching, we may even see the beginnings of the final stage of the EU - the long awaited "10 Kings" stage - the stage of development which will produce the antichrist and world rule.

  1. Every day, I just wait to see the headline that says the ME is in all out war, or the one that says the global economy has tanked. It's like that first climb on a roller coaster. You know what's coming once you get to the top, and you can feel your adrenaline start pumping, and you feel the anticipation building inside you as you inch closer and closer to the first drop. We can see the top of the hill. We know what's coming next. Our hearts are beating faster, and we're getting more and more excited. Christ is coming back for His bride, and it literally could be ANY day now. We're just bracing ourselves for that "drop" into eternity. Will the Lord find us sleeping, or will He find us looking up? Keep watch, people. Jesus IS coming for us.

    Maranatha! Our Lord Come!

  5. I'm 100%, and have been for a couple of weeks. My wife is still really sore. We're just taking it day by day, and I keep reassuring her that it will get better. She's pretty much following the same pattern I went through, so that's eccouraging. We'll get through it. Thanks again for all the prayers.

  7. Seth, glad to hear it. Also, there's one difference between a rollercoaster and eternity. The thrill of the rollercoaster ends quickly. Eternity will be more creative, fun and joyful in each moment (ok, I know there's no concept of time, but idk how else to say it). I used to have doubts about eternity. I thought it'd get boring after a while, but I know that God wouldn't allow us to get bored in eternity.

  8. Dylon: If we get bored in eternity we really have problems. We would need a psychiatrist; and I understand they'll be out of work up there. Another great Hal Lindsey video.

  10. Great analogy, Seth!

I am glad to hear that your wife is doing well. What a blessing to live in a country with such good medical care. It is sad that so many people across the world do not have such access.

"Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as He is pure." (1 John 3:2-3)

Hal L has not identified the 10 kings to my knowledge

  12. Hello Stephen

Hal recognised that the world has been subdivided into 10 regions for manufacturing, fisheries, farming specifics etc for administration purposes. E.g. Coffee from the region of Brazil etc.

Ten regions are not ten Kingdoms as there has to be *A* king to rule to be a kingdom. Each one of these regions consist of many 'kings'. In Greek the word for kingdoms is Basileia. A feminine noun defined as:

    1) royal power, kingship, dominion, rule
    a) not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom
    2) a kingdom, the territory subject to the rule of a king

Rev.17:10 speaks of 10 Kings, not kingdoms.
The Greek word for King is basileus which is a masculine noun meaning:
    1) leader of the people, prince, commander, lord of the land, king

Rev 17:10 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten KINGS, which have received NO kingdom AS YET yet; but receive POWER as kings ONE HOUR *WITH* the beast.

These 10 kings emerge from the 4th Beast of iron Rome; then from among the 10 Kings/horn, an 11th King/horn emerges – the a/c.

Vs 11These have ONE mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

Daniel2:40 And the FOURTH kingdom shall be strong as IRON: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise
VS41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' CLAY, and part of IRON, the kingdom shall be DIVIDED; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
    42. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly STRONG, and partly BROKEN.
    43. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but THEY SHALL NOT CLEAVE one to another, even as IRON IS NOT MIXED WITH CLAY.

The Ten Kings will emerge from Rome only just before the a/c is revealed.

Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a FOURTH beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great IRON teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was DIVERSE from all the beasts that were before it; and it had TEN HORNS
Vs8. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things
Vs.9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

These thrones will be cast down at the 2nd Coming when Jesus destroys a/c and the armies ruled by these kingS. They only rule for one hour = 7 years until Jesus destroys them with the Sword of His Mouth. (Word) Rev19:15,21.

In other words, Jesus speaks a Word, and they are destroyed.

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the SWORD of the Spirit, which is the WORD of God:

Hebrews 4:12 For the WORD of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged SWORD, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

    Maranatha!
    Sue
