Israel vs. Iran: More Updates and Rumors of War

Today, the information continues to roll in regarding Iranian nuclear development - all while the rhetoric leading to war picks up pace, with Russia now involved in this evolving scenario:

Iran will be able to build nuclear bomb within months, IAEA says

Iran has already acquired the knowledge, technology, and resources to create a nuclear bomb within months, according to Western experts who were briefed on the intelligence information due to be released in this week's report by the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency.

The decision to assemble the weapon is effectively in the hands of Iranian leaders, with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the helm.

Russian FM warns against any military strike on Iran

Russia's foreign minister warned on Monday that any military strike against Iran would be a grave mistake with unpredictable consequences.

Russia, the closest thing Iran has to a big power ally, is deeply opposed to any military action against the Islamic Republic

The UN nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, is expected this week to issue its most detailed report yet on research in Iran seen as geared to developing atomic bombs. But the Security Council is not expected impose stiffer sanctions as a result.

Israeli media have been rife with speculation that Prime Minister Biyamin Netanyahu is working to secure cabinet consensus for an attack on Iranian nuclear installations.

"This would be a very serious mistake fraught with unpredictable consequences," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said when asked about reports that Israel planned a military strike against Iran.

A raid on Iran's nuclear facilities would be likely to provoke Tehran into hugely disruptive retaliatory measures in the Gulf that would sever shipping routes and disrupt the flow of oil and gas to export markets, political analysts believe.

Iran Answers Rumors of Planned Attack: "Our Wrath on Tel Aviv"

A week of rumors that Israel plans to attack Iran has prompted a warning that it can deal Israel a “crushing response” and that “any Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic would be reciprocated with a destructive reprisal.”

Responding to repetition in the media that Israel has decided that the “military option” is the only way to stop Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon, an Iranian legislator was quoted by the state-run Fars News Agency as saying, "Before (being able to take) any action against Iran, the Israelis will feel our wrath in Tel Aviv.”

Different interpretations over the weekend pointed to mild American reactions to the reports that most, if not all, Israeli ministers have removed previous objections to a military attack.

During the period of the Obama administration’s attempt to “engage Iran," the Iran regime has built nuclear plants deep underground in rocky areas that make it difficult, if not impossible, to attack except through a strike mounted by anti-regime agents in Iran.

Tehran: For an Israeli attack, four Iranian missiles would hit a million Israelis

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) new agency Fars headlined a threat Sunday, Nov. 6: Four Iranian missiles can destroy tiny Israel, said the paper in Tehran's first reaction to the flood of conflicting reports about a possible Israel attack on Iran's nuclear sites

What Zarey may be referring to are the stubborn rumors going around Western intelligence circles since early 2005 that during the breakup of the Soviet Union, Tehran laid hands on black market nuclear cruise missiles from the Ukraine and 3 to 5 more from Belarus.

Ukrainian arms dealers smuggled 18 nuclear-capable cruise missiles to Iran and China in 1999-2001, Ukraine's prosecutor-general has said. The Soviet-era Kh-55 missiles - also known as X-55s - have a maximum range of 2,500km. They are launched by long-range bombers. The Kh-55, known in the West as the AS-15, is designed to carry a nuclear warhead with a 200-kiloton yield.

Our military sources add that with these missiles in hand, Iranian warplanes could bombard Israel 1,200 kilometers away without leaving their own air space.

Barak refuses to rule out military strike against Iran

In an interview with the BBC, Mr Barak said that sanctions and international diplomacy had so far failed to deter Iran from seeking to build a nuclear bomb, a prospect that would, he warned, threaten the stability of the "whole world".

The minister's comments come after a week of increasingly insistent claims in the Israeli press that Mr Barak and Benjamin Netanyahu, his prime minister, are lobbying cabinet colleagues to support military strikes against Iran.

The two men, considered Israel's chief political hawks when it comes to Iran, are hoping that a report to be submitted by the UN's nuclear watchdog this week will provide justification for military action, observers and officials have suggested.

In a series of interviews, Mr Peres warned that time was running out to prevent Iran from fulfilling its perceived nuclear ambitions and appeared to urge the international community to consider the military option.

"The possibility of a military attack against Iran is now closer to being applied than the application of a diplomatic option," he told the Israel Hayom newspaper.

Syrian forces enter Homs district after bombardment

Troops and militiamen loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad entered a residential district of Homs after six days of tank bombardment that killed scores of people and wounded hundreds in the hotbed of unrest, residents and activists said on Monday.

Fatah: Israel's Tax Freeze "Declaration of War"

Israel has declared war on the Palestinian Authority (PA) by freezing tax revenues after the PA joined UNESCO, a Fatah official charges.

Fayiz Abu Aita, a spokesman for the party headed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, said that the Israeli measure and its announced speed-up of building in Judea and Samaria will have “disastrous results for the entire region.”

"This is a declaration of war", Aita said in a statement issued by the Media and Culture Commission and quoted by the Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency, closely identified with the PA. Israel decided last week to withhold customs revenues collected by Israel on behalf of the PA at crossings into Judea, Samaria and Gaza.

"Israel bears full responsibility for this dangerous escalation,” he added, warning that trying to “undermine” the PA will impact the entire Middle East.

IDF Tanks Fire on Gaza Terrorists

An IDF force spotted a terrorist squad Monday around noon, as it planted two explosive charges near the northern section of the security fence separating Gaza and Israel.

The IDF Spokesman's Unit said that the Israeli soldiers fired tank shells at the terrorists and identified hits on target

The Middle East is one big "rumor of war" right now. Between Iran, Russia, Syria, Turkey, Egypt, Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon, the region is just on the brink of war - awaiting the final tipping point.

And once the powder-keg is ignited, subsequent prophetic developments are certain to follow.

  1. It mustn't be forgotten through all this . . .that Iran received permission from Dictator Chavez of Venzuela to construct missile launch pads in his country. So while Israel may well be struck in retaliation of a strike on Iran's arsenal . . .a reprisal attack on the US shouldn't be ruled out. Specifically, an EMP strike on the US, would set us back 140 years or more and I sincerely believe Iran would not be opposed to taking such drastic measures.

  2. Great summation of events Scott. Just wow!

Looks like a great deal of hooting-n-hollering from almost every possible corner of the multi-sided problem.

I say most, cause SA, US, and EU (except for the UK) seem to be quiet and that seems ominous to me. Except for SA, both the US and EU always seem to feel obligated to make sure the world understands where they stand every quarter hour or so.

Seems to be lots of places to be focusing your attention these days. Any one of which would have had our undivided attention just a short year or so ago....now they're just lost in the multitude of contractions.

Interesting ..... ain't it. And so much of it contradictory, almost as if by design......Hummm

  4. Hello everyone. Still plugging away at the new job so I only have a little time to write. Please keep praying for me in this new job. It's funny though, I keep thinking that maybe the rapture will happen soon and I won't have to worry about paying my bills much longer.

I would like to know if anyone is thinking that we will see something happening in Syria before Iran. I've just been feeling that it starts there and quickly escalates the whole regions hatred towards Israel.

Mrs. C. I would be really interested in what you have to say about this. Everyone is focusing on Iran right now which means Syria can be more aggresive towards the demonstrators. While I think Israel is ready to hit Iran I belive that there will be two things happening at the same time which makes the whole situation much broader than just Iran.

I have started fasting on from Tuesday nights at 6:00 pm to Wednesday at 6:00 pm. I always begin my fat with a prayer. In that payer I take the list of things I'm dealing with and ask God to show me supernaturally what is going on. I felt an incredible calm after last weeks fast. So I can't wait to get started tonight. Please pray for me during this fast.

All of you guys & gals mean so much to this old boy from Tennessee. Even you Stephen!LOL

    God bless you all today.

  5. James,

Hope all is well in your new job! Good luck with that.

One quick note - I recall a few posts back that one author was speculating that all of the military activity thats been going on in the ME - including Israel and the UK/US is really about Syria, not Iran....It was only one article, but it was interesting (DrNo of the archives may find the link ")

I think it all goes back to tipping points and which ever one goes first will ignite the powder keg....

I could easily see a scenario in which Iran gets hit and then uses their proxies first to invade Israel (Isa 17) and then Gog-Magog follows....I could just as easily see any 'incursion' in Syria triggering Syria sending missiles into Israel and leading to Isa 17, before anything happening in Iran....

  6. The Emerging Harlot!

Over the years, I have been really helped by the Blue Letter Bible and have been happy to recommend it for Bible Study. The Teachers are all part of ‘Calvary Chapel’ begun by Chuck Smith.

I take no pleasure in passing on a serious ALERT from S.R.N - Chris Lawson, regarding e.g. Costa Mesa and Chuck Smith who are supporting Ecumenism.

"Dear Reader, and Calvary Chapel Pastors and Church Leaders,

The ministry of SRN has chosen to have this page remain on this website due to the increasing ECUMENICAL RELATIONS THAT A NUMBER OF VERY WELL KNOWN CALVARY CHAPEL PASTORS ARE INVOLVED IN i.e. Rick Warren working together with Greg Laurie (and Chuck Smith) at the Harvest Crusade; and now Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William "Jerry" Boykin speaking at numerous Calvary Chapel venues / churches.

We welcome comments from everyone, including Calvary Chapel pastors and leaders.

  7. While I've thought for the longest time Syria would be the first battle and Iran would follow . . . it does appear things are heating up faster in Iran now. I think it's important to remember, while reading Isaiah 17 and Psalm 83 . . .we're really not given any timeline whatsoever. We can only surmise based on who's in the Ezekiel 38-39 war and who isn't. But I really do believe each of those priors are merely battles in one big war anyway . . .which will culminate in the Gog/Magog War, otherwise known as WWIII.

  8. Robin, I can't really see how an EMP strike would fit in with prophecy in that when Christ returns (2nd coming) every eye will see him. Also, doesn't everyone during the trib see the two witnesses dead on the street for three days? Those left at that time would need satellite TV I'm a'thinkin'. If an EMP sets us back 140 years, then there won't be any technology in the U.S. unless the situation got rectified quickly. Just my thoughts. I could be way off base with this.

  9. Anon, It's estimated it would take six months to a year to restart the power grid after such an EMP attack. Of couse, no one knows with certainty, by virtue of the fact there's never been one used. My reference to 140 years wasn't to imply it would take that long to recover . . .but rather it would be America BEFORE the availability of electric lights. So given that timeline, electricity would be available in plenty of time to witness the Abomination of Desolation and Witnesses.

My concern regarding EMPs is simply that . . .the United States . . .leader of the free world, isn't referenced, even in passing, in end times events. So what happens to America to relegate it to nothing? While I think the Rapture would be a significant enough event, I think other nations would be affected by the Rapture as well, so all would be in dire stress.

There are other scenarios, of course . . .but given the timeline, if it's as soon as imminent, the more likely scenario, in my mind is an EMP or catastrophic natural disaster and obviously, I lean toward the former.

  11. AND yet, stocks are UP again...

    this bull REFUSES to die....

    current Elliott Wave Counts suggest
    maybe another day of rally....
BUT if 12, 284 gets taken out on the Dow, all bets are off....

stocks could then push UP to
    13,000 plus.

    we will see.

    A break below DOW 11, 800 would
    SEAL the fate for bulls....

    BUT UNTIL this market gets
    SERIOUS about going into sell
mode, i highly DOUBT that a spark
will hit in the ME....to ignite
    a fire.......

    We will see.

    Stay tuned

  13. Hi Dear Brother James, :)
Good to see you Brother! Hope everything is going great for you :) Ok, I have to get some rest, but Ill try to answer your question. What we know from Gods Word regarding Iran-
•Iran will not destroy Israel as we know Gods Word says Israel will remain.
•Iran is not a participant in the Isaiah 17 war.
•Iran will not be a super power as God tells us in Ezekiel 38:5. God does not list Iran as a powerful co-invader with Gog. Instead God lists Iran with all the other followers, tagalongs of Gog. If Iran had a nuke, they would use it, and they don’t because otherwise they wouldn’t need to join the Gog gathering, they would just attack Israel for themselves.

Something will happen to Iran between now, and Ezekiel 38, as God clearly demonstrates to us in His Word, that they are mere tagalongs, and have been diminished in power. It could be an attack against them, or it could be a huge earthquake. It could be that Israel attacks, either severe sabotage, or a precision strike. If Israel does attack, they know they will be faced with Iran triggering their proxies Hezbollah, Syria, Hamas, and will be faced with a multiple fronted war to fight. This is exactly what Gods says Israel will be faced with in the Isaiah 17 war. Because of the Iran proxies, we could see Iran hit, and that hit, quickly triggering an attack against Israel. Given the history of the atrocities against the Jewish People, chemical weapons fired on Israel by Syria, or Hezbollah would cause Damascus to be fully destroyed by Israel.

God opens Isaiah 17, with the complete destruction of Damascus. Israel has said for years now, that should Israel be attacked, they will hold “Damascus” not Syria, but specifically Damascus responsible. Like dominos falling, Verse 2 is Jordan, and Verse 3 is the West Bank both falling right after Damascus. Israel will be fighting for their very existence, alone with no allies or means of re-supplying. Amazing, we are seeing His Word come to life before our eyes!

    God Bless You Brother!

  14. MrsC . . .respectfully :) while I agree with nearly everything you said . . .there's just one point I think deserves further consideration.

A Superpower isn't necessarily a superpower nation based on whether or not it has nuclear weaponry. Pakistan, for instance, has nuclear weapons . . .but I don't think anyone would ever lump them in the same category as the USA or Russia.

And just like the USA doesn't "Need" allies to whoop up on another nation . . .a coalition is formed to avoid being considered in the world as a big bully.

So I don't agree with the notion Iran would simply attack Israel on it's own if it was capable. While they may or may not have the nuclear capabilities . . .they would prefer to be backed by a permanent member . . .or two . . .of the UN Security Council.

Furthermore . . .if by some miracle, the reports linked to this page back in May that predicted Iran could have nuclear weapons within two months were wrong . . .it's still a widely held view that Iran DOES have the capability of launching an EMP attack on the US, completely crippling the nation.

  15. Well, I hate to tell you this, but there isn't going to be any rapture, as so many describe it,for the majority of the people in the world. We aren't getting off that easy. These individuals who will be going to heaven are very few, in terms of the population of the world. They will be the balance of the 144,000 who are left on the earth before the day of judgement. These are the bride of Christ who will rule with him for a thousand years, and they will be all men, no women or children. Look it up! Didn't Paul say: "I forbid a woman to speak in the congregation.....", how much more so would they not take authority over men in the thousand year rule. Further, the Bible says the bride of Christ are all men. God has established an order in accordance to the way of creation: Jesus was created first and became the head of man; next came man, who became the head of woman, who was created last. This order will continue until the end of Christs 1000 year reign. Read, study your Bibles and it will alleviate any confusion you may have. No, we are all going to be here on earth when the tribulation starts and like in the days of Noah, so it will be when Christ returns. Don't forget that one very important scripture where it says that FEW are finding the way to life and MANY are on their way to destruction.Only 8 survived the last intervention. I could post scriptures but what is the point, if you are too lazy to look them up for yourself, you deserve to be one of the MANY. Contrary to what you've been told, salvation does take some effort.

  17. John Budgie

    144,000 Jewish male virgins.

Rev.7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the TRIBES of the children of ISRAEL.

Rev.14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.(OF ISRAEL)

The 144,000 are indeed all Jewish male virgins 12,000 from each of the 12 Tribes of Israel. They are quite different to the Church, with a different task as friends of the bridegroom.

    The Church/Body of Christ/ Bride.
Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
    27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
    28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
    29. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor un-circumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

The Church is Christ’s Body on earth, and His future Bride called ‘she’ wearing a bridal gown; you make her sound like a Tranvestite.

Basically chum; you have got yer knickers in a right twist, not knowing yer bum from yer elbow.

  18. Hey y'all young'un still "in-the-milk-of-the-Word"!

Pay close attention and mark these important points as to how EI has responded with Scripture to John Bungiejump, as typical Hit & Run "rock-throwers" that never come back to "debate" their vacant POVs!!

Her response, with all of her uncanny 007 intuitions, is never really directed at the ner-to-return "rock-thowers", but rather to all of us, firmly rooted in the Word as a proper educational teaching on how to point out the 'obvious' errors of the deceived in this end time of manifest deceptions.

    Amen EI!

PS. EI, not doubting yer 007 skills, how could you know it was a 'right twist', as opposed to a 'left twist', or simply a 'wrong twist'???
[and not to go into the rest of yer descriptions...]
