A Rapidly Changing World

Looking at the headlines over the past several days brings home one main point: The world is changing and it is changing rapidly. As Jesus stated, the signs of this generation would be like birth pains, and what we seem to be seeing is more frequent and more severe contractions. Additionally, the world as we have known it since the WWII era is becoming very different - and the speed with which this is happening is stunning.

Just take a look at today's headlines in that context:

Severe Solar Storms Could Disrupt Earth

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a federal agency that focuses on the condition of the oceans and atmosphere, said a severe solar storm could cause global disruptions in GPS systems, power grids, satellite communications, and airline communications.

According to a report by the National Research Council in 2008, a solar storm similar to the ones in the past could cause up to $2 trillion dollars in damage across the globe today.

Worldwide markets crash

Markets across the world have taken another hammering as panic-selling ripped through trading floors after America’s credit rating downgrade and Europe’s desperate intervention to stop Italy and Spain spiralling into crisis.

Shocked by the scale of the continuing collapse, economists warned that loss of confidence could become self-fulfilling. Credit Suisse said in a note: “Our concern is that the recent uncertainty will hit that confidence and with it business investment and employment plans. If that were to happen, the outlook for growth could worsen significantly.”

We May Be Looking At World War III

John Judis of The New Republic argues that a global depression far longer and more severe than anyone expected now seems nearly impossible to avoid. Judis believes that the coming "depression" will be accompanied by geopolitical upheaval and institutional collapse.

Daniel Knowles of the Telegraph has noticed a similar trend. In a post titled, "This Really Is Beginning To Look Like 1931," Knowles argues that we could be witnessing the transition from recession to global depression that last occurred two years after the 1929 market collapse, and eight years before Germany invaded Poland, triggering the Second World War:

the spiral downwards caused by confidence crises and ever rising interest rates – is exactly the same now as it was in 1931. And as Italy and Spain come under attack, we are reaching the limit of how much that sticking plaster can heal. Tensions between European countries unseen in decades are emerging."

That can't continue forever. The next few months will show S&P's downgrade to have been too little and too late, rather than too drastic and too soon. The Eurozone will fall apart. The American political crisis will only worsen; the "super-committee" will utterly fail, true to design. Soon enough, we may all wake up to a "reckoning" truly deserving of the name.

Is The World Going Bankrupt?

Europe and the US are hopelessly over-indebted. The crisis that started in the US real estate sector in 2007 has devastated state finances on both sides of the Atlantic and is threatening to wreck the euro and trigger a second global downturn. The world lacks the political leadership needed to end the turmoil.

The world is closer to an economic crash than at any time since the outbreak of the financial crisis

London Riots

Vigilantes were forced onto the streets last night to protect their homes and businesses after police failed to materialise at many of the scenes of looting and violence which swept across London.

As officers lost control of the streets locals were forced to take the law into their own hands, arming themselves with sticks and chasing looters away from their properties.

London Riots: Police lose battle as lawlessness erupts

The police battle to enforce order on the streets of London collapsed completely last night as lawlessness spread to all corners of the capital.

London descends into anarchy

As London descends into anarchy this evening, with disturbances, arson, looting and other criminality breaking out in one borough after another for the third night running, it is clear that this is organised disorder, with thugs being dispatched to provoke and escalate hooliganism and rioting from area to area through use of social media and apparently now, the more secure BlackBerries.

Dollar And Euro Collapse Could Be Only Weeks Away

The historical downgrade of US debt and insolvency of Italy and Spain — the eurozone’s third and forth largest economies — has focused the world’s attention on the nature of our financial system with German FDP lawmaker Frank Schäffler calling for a world debt summit.

The events of the past couple of weeks show that the USA and eurozone countries can no longer find sufficient money to pay even the interest on their national debts even as they go about expropriating their people.

The sovereign debts are ultimately set to grow because of the very nature of our financial system in which money is created by private banks as interest-bearing loans. Eventually, the credit and debt reach a mathematical limit.

Iran Revolutionary Guard Commander Vecomes New President of OPEC

If you were worried about foreign oil before and production gouging by OPEC before, just wait until you hear who‘s the organization’s new president. The Guardian is reporting that Rostam Ghasemi, who on Wednesday became Iran’s oil minister, is now the new head of OPEC. But not only is he from the U.S.-hating Iran, he’s also been sanctioned by the U.S., the E.U. and Australia and has his assets blacklisted.

The Revolutionary Guard and Iran couldn’t be happier.

Arab states to head UN in September

Two Arab states will head the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly in September, the month which is expected to see a vote on recognition for a Palestinian state. Lebanon will serve as president of the Security Council in September and Qatar will head the General Assembly for one year as of next month.

Sharia law in bid to conquer London

Islamists are trying to enforce their severe Sharia law code of conduct in London, to drag “enveloped in sin “ Britain to a sin-free society by any means – from abstention to amputation.
They’ve started a campaign to make certain areas of London and other cities Islamic law-controlled zones – starting with Walthamstow, East London. They do believe that Islam and Sharia are unstoppable in Europe.

China warns it will punish US for Taiwan arm sales with 'financial weapon'

Now is the time for China to use its “financial weapon” to teach the United States a lesson if it moves forward with a plan to sale arms to Taiwan. In fact, China has never wanted to use its holdings of US debt as a weapon. It is the United States that is forcing it to do so.

And below are two videos worth watching:

Video: "Democratic" Egypt Descends Further Into Islamist Chaos; Christians Resist

How Technocracy is Attempting to Control our Homes

There is no doubt that the world is experiencing massive changes: The world's financial crisis, the rise of radical Islam, the loss of freedoms, persecution, earthquakes, pestilences, war, rumors of wars, arms build-up in the Middle East, the UN's anti-semitism, nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorist states, the EU's crisis, Elenin, solar flares, the electric grid, storms, you name it - everywhere you look, the earth is undergoing major upheaval.

However, this is exactly what we should expect as we approach the coming Tribulation. Jesus gave us these signs for a reason (many reasons actually) - and knowledge of what is coming is a potent means of avoiding fear while we watch.

Knowledge is power, as they say, and this current worldwide situation is no different.

We should look at these events with an increasing awareness of God's presence - as such world events are lining up precisely as biblical prophecy would dictate.

We have a very very powerful God who remains in complete control - and we can rest assured that the remaining words spoken by the prophets are equally certain.

God's wrath will be coming to an unrepentant world - a wrath that we will not experience.

The apostle Peter reminds us of this fact:

"If he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness and seven others;

if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men -

If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment."
(2 Peter 2:5-9)

The apostle Peter shouldn't really need to remind us of this fact, as the New Testament is full of scriptures which give the same instructions:

According to the apostle Paul, we are told to wait for Jesus during these times:

"and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead - Jesus, who rescues us form the coming wrath." (1 Thessalonians 1:10)

And according to Jesus Himself:

"I will also keep you for the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on earth."
(Revelation 3:10)

It couldn't be more clear. We will not experience the time of God's wrath which is rapidly approaching. We're not there yet, but it won't be long now.

And lastly, we are told that once we see these signs - we should be hopeful, not fearful. Why? Because we know our fate.

"For God did not appoint us to suffer this wrath, but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing"

(1 Thessalonians 5:9-11)

AMEN.

  1. In addition to all this I read on Debkafile how Israel's credit rating has also been downgraded because their bonds are U.S. backed. Also, the mass protests are trying to bring down the government.

  2. thank you scott for the encouraging words and scriptures. It would be so easy to be living in fear right now, but as children of God, we are not. We are at peace and looking for Christ. Our God is Awesome! He is so gentle and kind to those who love Him. His wrath is against those who reject Him and His free gift of salvation.

  3. Thank you for the work you do to keep us posted on events around the world. Things are happening at such a pace it would be hard for any Christian not to know we are approaching the hour of Christ's return for His church.

Thanks to the others who post also.

May God richly bless you as you use your gift of insight to encourage others.

  5. Has anyone heard from Sue? Hope she isn't in the midst of the chaos in London.

The US economy is at a point of no return and even with the best plans for recovery it will fall short of the intended goal. God has given our leaders over to a reprobate mind. There is nowhere to look but up at this point.

  7. Hello Scott and gearedup2go

It has started again already, from about 18:30 it slowly builds until nightfall, then mayhem. London was hit very, very badly and the police as our 'thin blue line' were overstretched by too many incidents. The kids were described as being like 'ferrel rats' running about.

WHERE are the parents? They must also be made accountable. The parents of my two fifteen year old grandchildren know where their kids are; and aren't allowed to wander the streets - none of them are. It's not all down to the enemy, people are not willing to take responsibility for their own actions.

Manchester has cars on fire now. Last night Bristol and Birmingham were hit (our 2nd City). My grandaughters and their mum were going to the 'Bull Ring', a big shopping centre in Birmingham tomorrow to spend her birthday money. That's been cancelled. Such a shame.

We are in-between Bristol and Birmingham, but nothing in Gloucester so far. I'm not kidding myself, if it goes here, we are in easy access to three dodgy areas. We are in a quiet, respectable road which can be used as a 'rat run'.

If I have to defend our home
I will use whatever I need to do it - hose-pipe, broom or frying-pan, I'm/we will not be counting on the police to defend us in this situation. We went through a flood once after a huge storm and 999 was off the hook - no help from any of the services, they were already over-stretched so we had to all help ourselves.

HAD to get that off my chest!

    MARANATHA! Praise The Lord!!!
    Sue

  13. Hi Miss Sue! Know the Caver household is praying.

A cheap but very effective protection is a can of wasp and hornet spray. It shoots a solid stream about 20-25 feet accurately. It will instantly stop someone, especially if shot in the face or eyes.

We keep 3-4 cans withing easy reach around the house all the time.....and not for the bees. Oh yea, there is a gun just beyond the spray....just in case.

  14. Geepers, the Dow went up by 400 points today. What is up with that Stephen/Caver? Do people have that much money to "throw" away? I was surprised.

Sue, stay safe. I have a warm spot in my heart for England. My Grandfather was from around Manchester. He came to the US in 1906 at the age of 17. I am still hoping he came to the Lord on his death bed? He was an agnostic most of his life.

Paula, sling shots? Really? Hopefully folks over there have stashed away a gun or two for protection. We actually had a guy in our town here that recently shot and killed antoher guy in a dispute with a Bow and razor tip hunting arrow. Yikes!

I actually used Yikes and geepers in the same post...wow...I must be a geek at heart.

While the US economy is in a meltdown, our leader decided to focus his attention on a Green agenda and limit large trucks, vans, and pickups if they don't comply to the 35+ mpg rule to be implemented in short order. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/08/09/obama-to-set-fuel-efficiency-standards-for-commercial-trucks/

  17. Hi WV! I don't know, but have some suspicions. Lots of folk just haven't figured out that this is not just rhetoric but real. They're still trying to play by normal stock market rules....and listening to the soothing rhetoric coming out of their gov. They still buy on major sell offs. Unless there's another "clump" of bad news they will drive a temp rally but the basic trend is still down. In short, lots of profit to be made on short term buys/sells.

Then there is gold and silver to go along with the stocks. Lots of major players to include government agencies that are not supposed to influence the markets....but work behind the scenes. They have a vested interest not to let it crash or let gold and silver run its natural course. If it did, lots of folk would see just how nervous the general population really is and that's not in their interest.....yet. Lots of behind the scenes manipulation to keep things steady. Gold has started decoupling but silver is much easier to control. Enough folk are starting to move to gold that the big boys are losing control and its finding its natural price. I suspect its going to take a while but silver will follow suite.

    IMHO

GearedUp....understand your emotions and feelings. Personally, I think this is precisely and exactly what the Obummer is trying to do.

I wish I could say I thought he was just SOS (Stuck on Stupid) but I'm afraid he is doing this according to a precise and exact script.

  20. Paula: My late father-in-law was a great shot with a sling. As I have plenty of trees to get the Y, I shall have to improvise with some knicker elastic and an eye patch - I will start practising.

Caver: Would you believe that those sprays are illegal here, at least, those that spurt as far as yours do are.

We have two of our families, including 5 Grandchildren in the houses opposite to us and my old mum lives next door. If things got really serious for them, then we would have to break open the 'hunting' cupboard if you catch my drift...as a last resort.

Our other family is in a safe place; but out eldest boy would be of greatest concern in his area.
He would definitely fight back if he was threatend, he is the only man in that area of two elderly widows, and a man with a stroke with a wife and small baby.

Some rioters broke into one womans flat and snatched her baby from her for an hour... can you imagine what terror that mum was in.

    Hello gearedup2go

It is Manchesters turn tonight; but far more police have been called in from other areas. Much to the disgust of football supporters, their important match was cancelled as their police for crowd control were manning the baricades instead!

Scott - I have scared off more yobs than I can count over the decades. Once I ran at some trying to kick gates in and I was shouting and yelling at them to clear off. They stood stock still, stared at me, turned on their heels and ran for all they were worth.

I would like to think they saw angels guarding me - but no - I fear it was the sight of me barefoot, in my short, thin nightie jumping up and down like a chimp that did it. I could've blinded em! :\

Hmmm how bout...(staying with the medieval theme, considering the way they are behaving)...full chamber pots! Yeah, thats it! That'll do the trick! After that was done to them, these young animals/hooligans would have to explain where they’ve been, to their parents, coming home smelling like that!
Or...treat them like bank robbers...spray them with some kind of un-washable dye! Say the color purple! Makes it very easy for the police to identify them the next day! They could just pick out kids left and right that have sey...purple faces!
