In the news:

The search for a new global monetary system

Columbia University’s Robert Mundell, whose thinking contributed to the intellectual foundation of the euro zone, is in high demand here at the Lindau Meeting on Economic Sciences for obvious reasons. He’s taking advantage of the attention to propose a new international monetary system.

Big financial crises are a prewar and a contemporary phenomenon: they were relatively common before the Second World War, and they are a regular feature of the global economy of the last few decades.

However, Prof. Mundell is equating the treasury secretary’s intellectual curiosity with a willingness to upend U.S. currency policy. The G20 will discuss reform of the monetary system at its summit in Cannes, France in November

Wall Street, September 17: 'Beginning of the Global Revolution?

The “Anonymous” anarchists are joining the planned occupation of Wall Street, beginning September 17.
It says, “flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months … Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices.”

The September 17 protest is not confined to Wall Street. It is part of an international coordinated attack on the planet’s major financial centers. These people, if they can, want to shut down all major Western financial trading.

Double-dip fears across the West as confidence crumbles

The Western world is at mounting risk of a double-dip recession after key measures of confidence collapsed in both the United States and Europe, with Germany suffering the steepest one-month fall since records began in the 1970s.

The US Conference Board's index of consumer sentiment in August plunged to the lowest level since the depths of the slump in 2009, falling to 44.5 from 59.2 in July. Future expectations fell even harder.
The drop was far steeper than expected and follows grim warnings over the weekend from Christine Lagarde, new chief of the International Monetary Fund, that the global crisis is entering "a dangerous new phase" .

Stephen Jen from SLJ Macro Partners said the next phases of the eurozone crisis is likely to come when the debtor states conclude that it is no longer worth putting up with the pain of EU-imposed austerity. "I think this will happen in weeks rather than months."

25 Signs That The Financial World Is About To Hit The Big Red Panic Button

Most of the worst financial panics in history have happened in the fall. Just recall what happened in 1929, 1987 and 2008. Well, September 2011 is about to begin and there are all kinds of signs that the financial world is about to hit the big red panic button. Wave after wave of bad economic news has come out of the United States recently, and Europe is embroiled in an absolutely unprecedented debt crisis.

Will Katia Be A Threat for the East Coast?

Katia (pronounced KAH-tyah according to the National Hurricane Center) became a tropical storm early Tuesday morning after first forming as a tropical depression south of the Cape Verde Islands Monday morning.
The storm is moving over very warm sea surface temperatures and into an area with weaker winds aloft. These factors have allowed Katia to strengthen into a strong tropical storm as of early this morning.

Fukushima Is Continually Blasting...High Levels of Cesium, Strontium And Plutonium

Fukushima is now far and away the worst nuclear disaster in all of human history. Chernobyl was a Sunday picnic compared to Fukushima and the amount of cesium-137 released at Fukushima this year so far is equivalent to 168 Hiroshima bombs. The crisis at Fukushima is far, far worse than you have been told. We are talking about multiple self-sustaining nuclear meltdowns that will not be fully contained for years. In an attempt to keep people calm, authorities in Japan (and around the rest of the world as well) have lied and lied and lied.

Iran Inches Closer to Nuclear Weapons

Iran has acknowledged that it possesses new technologies that could bring it closer to developing nuclear weapons and more advanced missiles. The international community is finding it more and more difficult to restrain Tehran, and increasing the country's political and technological isolation could have dire consequences.

Iran is now capable of producing carbon-plastic composite materials in violation of UN sanctions. Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Wahidi said his country is among ten nations in the world that can manufacture them. Associated Press quoted Wahidi as saying that this new capability will eliminate a bottleneck in Iran's production of modern military systems.

Earthquake aftershocks roll on

August is ending. Hurricane Irene has left the Washington area. The big earthquake was eight days ago. But its aftershocks linger on.

So far, it appears, there have been 19 of them. The most recent, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, came at 9:27 a.m. Tuesday. Its magnitude was 2.1, far less than the 5.8 quake on Aug. 23 that has set off the repeated shaking.

Comet Elenin Breaking Apart?

A new report is in at TheWeatherSpace.com and the report states that Comet Elenin is dimming and falling apart.

"I can confirm with many other astronomers that Elenin will not make perihelion this Fall," Art Powell from Florida says. "Elenin's coma is becoming elongated and this means it is falling apart."

Comets are fragile ice rocks that can; and do break apart.

Did Massive Explosion Disintegrate Comet Elenin?

This video is fascinating. I have no idea what it means.

IDF beefing up defenses in south after intelligence warnings of terror attack

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Benny Gantz ordered the reinforcement of forces all along the border, from the Gaza Strip to the Gulf of Eilat, on Sunday night, following concrete intelligence that a number of cells of militants had entered Sinai through tunnels in Rafah, aiming to carry out attacks on Israeli territory.

New fighting in Libya as Gaddafi loyalists refuse to surrender

Loyal followers of Muammar Gaddafi are refusing to surrender to those who have forced him into hiding, raising the prospect of new fighting in Libya when an ultimatum expires after this week's Eid holiday.

Nato warplanes have been bombing Gaddafi forces near Sirte, and the alliance has assured its Libyan allies that it will keep up its military drive from the air for an end to the conflict - something the council leadership says will only be secured once Gaddafi is found, "dead or alive".

Council chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil, who as Gaddafi's justice minister until turning against him this year has had ample opportunity to observe the survival instincts of one of the world's longest ruling autocrats, warned again on Tuesday:

"Muammar Gaddafi is not finished yet."

"He still poses a threat to Libyans and the revolution. He still has pockets of support in Libya and supporters outside Libya, both individuals and countries," Abdel Jalil said in the council's eastern stronghold of Benghazi.

  1. Hi Scott

may I please have your email address so that I can ask you questions separately to this blog, rather than post them here.

As you do not advertise your email address on here, I am at a loss as to what to do. I can only ask you questions here. But I am being criticised for asking those questions. I accept the criticism but what can I do?

It may be that you are inundated with your blog and keep forgetting. I can understand that.

You had mentioned that you would email me by last sunday latest, so obviously you have forgotten.

    So I remind you again.

Please contact me because I do not want to write anything on your blog which causes others to get irritated. Or at least please write something here to say that you have no problem with anything I have written so far (if you have some other reason why you haven't emailed me).

In fact I didn't even want to write these things, but what am I to do? I see your blog as somewhere I can have proper fellowship. Your blog is the best one I have found with really nice contributors, so I would really like to participate in this fellowship. I NEED IT!

    Please!

  2. Hi everyone,
I ran across a youtube that was well put together and brings all the devastation together lately.

WARNING: Very graphic! Please be very careful in watching. There is visual death and destruction in this video. The bible talks about the death and destruction that is coming and even worse during the Tribulation period. The visual graphics in this video has made me cry.

Scott, feel free to delete if it is too graphic or if I am not allowed to post a link to another site. The question I have is for those who are lost and the effect a video like this would have on them. It is plain and simple that we are living in the last days and wonder why people can't see this and turn to the only one who can save. Perhaps a message at the end would definitively help.

    http://www.youtube.com/user/LadyD1979

So thought I would include a message here for those who have stumbled upon this site and who are searching for truth: (i tried to put it here, but it exceeded the 4,096 character, so hopefully its ok to post the link here from another site that I put together back in March of this year.

  3. Just wow at the news today and the reminder of the Nuke in Japan. I remember when I was in the nuclear power industry a few lifetimes ago....the worst possible scenario appears what they have going on in multiple individual reactor buildings.

The fuel rods and reactor proper have apparently melted down and dropped to the bottom forming a super hot and radioactive "blob".

The "blob" appears to have melted through the reactor vessel and dropped to the bottom of the first concrete containment floor.

If I am reading this right, the blob has mixed with all the other "stuff" from this melt through and dropped to the floor of the first concrete/re-bar/stone floor of the 1st containment floor.

It has now melted its way through this and done the same thing to the final containment concrete floor.

IF I have this sequence put together right, the "blob" is now working its way through the bedrock and everything the plant is setting on. Its slowly melting and vaporizing everything it comes into contact with as it melts its floor and sinks lower and creating more radioactive vapor and materials every second.

    Not a very pretty thought....

  5. There are so many working toward the demise and fall of America. Many here see it even from high positions of government. But God alone is holding it all together and I can think of only one thing truly that will bring down the worlds colossal financial system. May God help our loved ones who are lost, may they see the light before its too late. It won't be till after the Rapture that I see America down graded by the financial institutions to junk status.

It would be unfair if I didn’t caution Scott about your habit to be persistent and demanding from anyone you covetously decide you want assistance from. As you quickly wore me down with your unrelenting and unwanted attention and the many assumptions, expecting me to follow your lead, which you had no right to expect.

All the while refusing to take no for an answer, however many times it was repeated, during your resolute pursuit as if it were your personal right to control and corral my life into whatever direction you saw as progress to benefit for your mediocre blog.

Unlike yourself; Scott is Employed earning a living, he has both a wife and a teenage daughter to prioritise; he has to travel a good deal; do preparations for Church, Search the News for relevant issues, then put it together as quickly as he can – then of course there are answers to the many comments and must not forget his right to rest when needed and time alone with The Lord. I was so glad you did not have a direct contact to Scott, but that was blown out of the water as you wheedled and pleaded into getting your own way. Your demand for attention and your penchant to control concerns me for Scott in your hijacking of him, or any one else here for that matter.

As I have not demanded Scott’s email address, I have had to do this publically, but then, I have come to recognise that being in public where you are concerned is safety in numbers. Sorry if this offends, but Scott is my priority here as I don’t want him to learn the hard way as I did. Just to add that the way you are following me about my long-time haunts that you once looked down your nose at while feigning ‘chance’; is giving me the creeps – again.

If Scott is happy to meet your demands, then at least he is now going in with his eyes wide open.

  19. Thanks Sue :) - I appreciate that a great deal and I really appreciate your kind considerations.

You are absolutely right about the fact that things around here are really really busy right now, with all of the things you mentioned. I don't have a lot of extra time at all.

If any personal correspondence becomes redundant or "wheels spinning" I am very quick to discontinue - not from being discourteous, but simply because I don't have time.

I'm not sure what the needs are in this particular instance as I haven't rec'd anything yet but I have a very limited amount of time for such.

I hope you are doing well, and all is fine in the UK! You are always in my thoughts and prayers :)

  20. Hello Scott

Thank you for 'getting it'. Frankly I was expecting a 'shot across the bows'. I decided I would rather that, than say nothing and you find your time being monopolised and pulled away from what you have been given to do here as John Ch blog has a totally different format.

Funny to know that I have been thinking of you as well,on two fronts. The first is posted above, plus Nathan said another Brit had lambasted L&L over their stance of Israel's 'occupation' of the West Bank Grrr.

Remember our 'Battle Royal' on this subject some time ago here on Update? Couldn't let the opportunity to tell said Brit what this old Brit thought about his Nazi stance. It really fired me up - and I needed that as I have just been stomped on again by my intolerant, rebellious offspring. I wanted to flush myself down the loo this morning - but Praise The Lord - He has lifted me AGAIN.
So thank you for your prayers.

    (((Big hug)))

God bless you dear Scott. I am really thankful for your families sake, as well as your own that you know how to pace yourself. Something I find hard to do myself - then I go fizzzzle-ft! Like a damp squib :)

  23. Sue:

Thanks for the post to John above. I have to say that in realizing how busy my good friend and dear brother Scott is these days, I am also very protective of his time. I feel guilty emailing him sometimes because of the demands this ministry has placed in his life.

I like you would stand up to anyone whose intentions are to manipulate Scott in any way. I think if John took a step back he could se that he should temper his remarks to one line in requesting to talk to Scott through email. Hopefully now he will.

We have to remember that God has been working through our wonderful brother for awhile now and if He needs help He will let each individual know what He needs. If you make a request and pray about it and God does not answer then you must sit back and wait for God. Pushing the point only gets an answer that God is not a part of.

Sue you are such a wonderful Sister in Christ and I can't wait to meet and hug you in paradise. You engender a lot of trust in every post you write and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on everything.

God bless you my dear. With all the love that this heart can muster please take care!

  24. Hey James

It was you who asked me to contact Scott by email. It was because of you that I asked for Scott's email. You and Sue are now blackening my character over an episode where i am simply trying to "go along" with your request and do the right thing.

This is what you said James:

" I read a couple of your post on the blog and i think you are asking for some important information from Scott. I think you are better served to email him with informational requests rather than post it on the blog. I believe that when you suggest an article that you should shoot him an email with a link so he can review it first. That way if he discerns the source is reputable and wants to post it he will. Also that line of communication stays between you and doesn't put us here on the blog in the middle."

I thought this was a nice site but the two of you are giving me second thoughts now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Dear Brothers ans Sisters,

You are making untrue accusations against me. If even the apostle Paul defended himself against wrongful accusations, then do I not also have the same right?

I have never pursued anybody. I simply either seek to answer the questions put to me or try to appease reasonable requests.

The reason I asked Scott for his email address was because of a comment by James on article dated 25 Aug 2011 entitled "is the number of earthquakes increasing" This is what James said:

"I read a couple of your post on the blog and i think you are asking for some important information from Scott.

So as you can see I was simply trying to respect James's request. Now it has been turned against me. I am only trying to do the right thing.

  26. Dear Scott, brothers and sisters,

I just noticed that my very first comment on this article, could have been misconstrued. I can see how it could have been misinterpreted.

    This is what I said:

"Your blog is the best one I have found with really nice contributors, so I would really like to participate in this fellowship. I NEED IT!"

I should have been careful not to leave any possibility of misuderstanding. Maybe it would have been clearer if I had of said

"Your blog is the best one I have found with really nice contributors, so I would really like to participate in this fellowship. I NEED THE FELLOWSHIP!,"

I certainly did not intend to give the impression that I was demanding the email.

If I gave that impression, then I am sorry. I certainly was NOT demanding Scott to give his email address. I was simply trying to honour the request of James. So, please forgive me for the misunderstanding.

    God bless you all

Listen to me lad! There have been no false accusations made against you whatsoever - indeed, I can assure you that I for one am NOT AGAINST you by any stretch of the imagination. I KNOW you mean well, I KNOW you have a kind well meaning heart; I KNOW how much you want fellowship; but frankly you make me feel really nervous both physically and spiritually.

This is not about the arrangements of your words in one post at all; this concerns what you seem to be unaware of, it’s about how controlling and ‘pushy’ you are. You have made some serious errors of judgment and actions that I will not elaborate on; you are self taught with little outside, stable influence to temper your zeal. The Holy Spirit LEADS; he never pushes and the rest of us HAVE to defend ourselves against brethren who have yet to learn how not to encroach into our own walk with Jesus and stifle the leading of the Holy Spirit by a domineering ‘now let me tell you’ kind of attitude.

About your pursuit of ‘love’. The very fact that you stand in accusation against the ‘love’ faults of other brethren is plain evidence that you lack said ‘love’ yourself or you wouldn’t be so judgmental. On THIS blog – re-read your attitude against Jacob and think on; as you go way beyond judging a word, and into judging the man himself. We ALL have to deal with our own ‘old man sin nature’, with a need to learn tolerance, which in Biblical terms means ‘to put up with’.

Deut 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might
Deut11:1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and KEEP his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.

Matt24:37 JESUS said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
    38. This is the first and great commandment

HOW are we to love God? Plainly and simply by obeying His commands; denying self and doing HIS will. WHEN we begin to do this we are then fit to follow the 2nd Command.
Matt25: And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

John14:15 Jesus said “If ye love me, keep my commandments”

That is what Love means, not sentimental emotionalism that is manufactured. As we deny self and accept God’s way; then The Holy Spirit will ‘grow’ God’s love in us. We love God first and comply to His Word and not the other way around by simulating ‘love’ to mankind to ‘prove’ our love for God.

    Your sister in Christ Jesus

  31. Hi Jec~

Thank you for letting me use this. I plan on using this as a tool for those who have been speaking of all the things that this video shows already. It is showing what we have been seeing in pieces but have become desensitized to in our daily lives. Not a piece used to create greater confusion or panic but to speak of these things in a visual approach no different than the news articles that have links. There are different stages to where someone may be and one has to be careful as to what and how things are provided while doing the will of God. I do agree with you on that question :)

IMHO I appreciated the warning on the upcoming graphic nature and that can allow someone not to look at it if it makes them uncomfortable and still share the overview that you gave. I am not a person who condones fear mongering and felt no indication of that as I viewed it.

    God Bless!!

  32. John:

Now that everything has been said you can see you kind of burst in to the room so to speak and it seems kind of took over. While this is possibly a take charge kind of attitude it's always better to ease in to a new blog and get a feel for the rhythm of how it works.

When you asked Scott to post that article and he didn't respond right away it seemd that you were a little frustrated. If you have a link then post the link in your comments so we can all go check it out. Scott almost always checks out the links posted as well. It just depends on how busy he is at work, what is going on with his family and his committment to his church and then what story he is working on for the blog. He spends a lot of time developing different stories for the blog and I'm sure he has three or four going at one time these days.

I don't want you to feel that we are picking on you and we certainly don't want you to go away. Now that you know how to ease in her just give it a little time but most definitely if you have something to add please do so with all the vigor of the Holy Spirit.

As Scott has said many times..."All our welcome here" and that definitely means you as well.

One more thing my friend, Sue is loved here very much and I and I'm sure most others who come here feel that way as well. We trust her, we thank God for her and to be honest this blog wouldn't be the same without her. When someone who is trusted and has a long history with this blog throws up a red flag believe me we listen to her. That is why I responded.

Now that being said, Just as Christ loves us and forgets the times when we don't do things He likes,we do the same here. What's done is done. Let's move on and fellowship here and most importantly let's talk about what the Holy Spirit is showing us and take that message to all who will hear.

I'm glad you are here and I'm sure you will have great things to say.

    God bless!

  40. Hey Guys

I am happy to accept the criticisms if the criticisms are true and if you were correct in your assessment, but your assessments are heavily influenced by one person who says they know me.

In fact, unless you have met this person many times personally and know them really well, how do you know that you can trust anybody 100% through cyberspace.

This person cannot know me as we have never met or even seen each other or even spoken. How can anyone make conclusions of a persons nature, personality and intentions, just based on mere writings which have their limitations and can be easily misunderstood.

This person says that I am judgemental (we'll come to that later) but can she not see how judgemental she is of those who disagree with her?

Regarding the criticism of me being demanding. If that were true I would agree with the criticism. However, you have unfairly drawn that conclusion by wrongly interpreting my comments. I will try to explain.

    Let's be realistic.

    1) How many articles are written over say 5 days?

    2) how many comments are written in these articles over these 5 days?

I will give you the figures.

Over the last 5 days (sunday to thursday) there has already been 213 comments on 13 articles (the comments will rise as more comments are added).

Then consider that the last article on the home page disappears off the home page every time a new article is written.

Then consider if Scott has time to monitor every single comment that is written - especially those comments on older articles.

Scott has admitted that he tries to speed read and may miss some things. He has also thanked those who have reminded him because he knows he may miss things.

From my experience of blog writers they do ask to be reminded if they have failed to answer and have admitted that they sometimes miss things.

Bearing these things in mind, all I am doing is reminding Scott (in case he didn't see it). I never demand his action. How do I know whether he has seen my article or not? I mean, if I wrote something that did not receive an answer(say about 10 articles ago) it could be evidence that he never saw it or has forgotten about it.

I can see how busy Scott is. I respect that and will try to avoid taking up too much of his time. This is why I am sending reminders to save him time digging through old comments.

Scott, if it is not helping you, please let me know, but (as it is your blog) surely it is YOU who should tell me - not others, if you don't like my "assistance" (which I try to do with good intentions).

To everybody else. Why are you treating Scott with "kid gloves" and patronising him? I am sure he is big enough and wise enough to make these decisions, himself.

Finally, isn't it being a bit high minded to believe you are always right and those who disagree are always wrong?

We should always (including myself) aim for humility and brokenness before God and others.

I am always asking my Saviour to help me to have a humble attitude and mind. One of my favorite passages is Phil 2:1-11, Especially:

"but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!"

Now before you say I am being judgemental (which would also be a judgemental comment, by the way) I am simply exhorting us all to humble ourselves before God because we all need to do that. Some are further on in their humility, but we can all grow even further in it. So it applies to all of us.

  41. Please everyone, I am praying for us all. We are a family in Christ. I can see how we got to this point, but this back and forth and the misunderstandings on both sides is making me very sad and uncomfortable for days now.

Both sides have said their peace. We are to be united in love and help one another. Lift each other up, not tear each other down. It would scare me for any new person coming here, not knowing how the format works among us and trying to defend themselves on either side, I may have simply just walked away.

OTOH - Sister Sue is just as cared and loved for as Brother John and just needed to make sure she laid the truth out for all to know in case, key word in case things go off course. The warnings have been laid. We understand in part some of the past experiences you two shared. The format of how Scott's blog operates has been discussed and I pray now everyone understands the intent of both sides and we can forgive, be courteous and walk together and move forward. We are the examples to others.

I am not trying to minimize each of your thoughts and feelings, this just seems to be a pressure able time for us all and I would hate to see that we take on the habits of the world and lose sight of what should be our Christ like behavior as we focus on helping others who are on limited time right now. I care about you all. May you all take this in the loving spirit it is given.

    God Bless!!

  42. Hi GG

    you said:

"OTOH - Sister Sue is just as cared and loved for as Brother John and just needed to make sure she laid the truth out for all to know in case, key word in case things go off course. The warnings have been laid"

Let me ask you. How would you feel if someone wrote out a warning against you as a person to avoid, thus taking all credibility away from you, making anything you are likely to say (in the future) null and void and to be ignored.

Also what Sue said against me is NOT truth, anyway.

Let me also ask, can anyone find fault in the information I am providing on this blog? It seems the only fault is the attempt to debunk my character, not what I say.

I do not normally pursue these things, but my very credibility (hence my blog) is at stake. I DO have the right to defend myself against continued false accusations.

However, I will say no more. It is clearly going onto deaf ears, who are unwilling to show neutrality and understanding. I am tired and depressed with all these unfair and uncalled for attacks on me. I have had enough. I will seek fellowship elsewhere.

I bid you farewell and will be praying for you. May God transform this blog and turn it into an even greater tool for His Glory.

I will still continue to read and observe the contributions.

    God bless you all.

  43. Hi John~

I am sorry you feel that way. It seems to me things may just continue to be taken out of context and I don't have the energy to sort through and keep justifying something that was not my intent.

We love having you. We welcome you and all. We understand that there are past issues with you and Sue, that is between you two and should not be brought here.

This is Scott's blog and it has it's own format and we must show courtesy, not saying you did or didn't, but show it to the host. You came asking to link to your site. That was your first request here. Somehow this has snowballed into others picking on you. That is so untrue and quite frankly, just not what this group is about. I am sorry you feel that way. If you wish to leave then that is your choice. We love having you and there is nothing more to mince our words over. If you choose to go, then it is by your own free will. I wish you the best in your endeavors.

    God Bless!!

  44. Thanks GG for trying to be understanding. At the beginning I enjoyed our interraction. Just to clarify, I came to this blog to escape Sue's treatment of me on L & L as I was fed up with it. Although I noticed that Sue was also contributing here, I tried to avoid interacting with her. As you say, I tried to NOT bring it here.

It wasn't me who initiated comments about Sue, was it? My only comments (regarding Sue) came later because she inexplicably attacked me for no good reason.
