Lebanon slipping into darkness: The noose around Israel tightens

It is looking more and more plausible that Hezbollah will assume control of Lebanon, and this is a very ominous development for Israel:

In a blow to Hariri, Jumblatt pledges support for Hizbullah

A potential kingmaker in Lebanese politics threw his support Friday behind Hizbullah, a major boost to the Shi'ite militant group that brought down the country's Western-backed government last week.

Walid Jumblatt, the influential leader of the Druse sect, refused to say exactly how many lawmakers are with him, but his support is key for any candidate trying to form a government.

In recent days, Jumblatt has gone to Damascus for meetings with Hizbullah's patron, Syria.

"The party will stand firm in support of Syria and the resistance," Jumblatt told reporters, referring to Hizbullah by the popular term.

This development is enormously significant and was considered as a last step in Hezbollah gaining complete control over Lebanon. Slipping into darkness indeed.

More from "Israel Today":

Lebanon faces isolation as Hizballah rises to power

Hizballah brought down the Western-backed government of Prime Minister Saad Hariri last week, and appears poised to either score a major victory in upcoming elections or to use its superior military forces to seize control of the country.

Christian leaders in Lebanon are panicked over what will happen to their country in the coming weeks. Samir Geagea, leader of the Christian Lebanese Forces, warned at a Beirut press conference on Saturday that Hizballah will “turn Lebanon in to Gaza,” referring to the current state of the Palestinian-controlled coastal strip after it came under the sway of Hamas.

And this quote represents the "bottom line" on this whole situation:

Israeli Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom on Saturday said these development had removed all doubt that Lebanon is now a satellite of Iran, which sponsors and even gives orders to Hizballah.

"Grave Concern" Over Hizbullah Takeover of Lebanon

Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom expressed grave concern Saturday over the real possibility of an Iranian-controlled Hizbullah regime taking control in Lebanon in the coming weeks.

Hizbullah “will no longer be merely a terrorist group operating with Iran's backing, but a terrorist group in control of the country,” Shalom said at an event in Bat Yam. “This is a dangerous development that requires Israel's close attention. We will be prepared for all future developments.”

Palestinian state is coming, Israel can't stop it

Palestinian Authority chief negotiator Saeb Erekat on Sunday confirmed his instance that a Palestinian state will be created soon. "A Palestinian state is coming, with 1967 borders and with a capital in east Jerusalem, and Israel cannot stop it anymore," he said during an interview with Army Radio.

Like a noose around the neck of Israel - we see a process by which Israeli borders are shrinking as terrorist groups, along with their partner, Iran, continue to tighten this noose.

God Himself, via the prophecies of Ezekiel has declared what is going on in the Middle East today, when He stated:

"On that day thoughts will come into your mind" (as a reference to "Gog" planning an attack on Israel) and "you will devise an evil scheme."

We are seeing the beginnings of this "evil scheme" - a scheme which is intended to destroy Israel. This "scheme" will ultimately reach a climax with the massive invasion of Israel, as led by the coalition of Iran-Russia-Turkey. Unfortunately, the leaders of this coalition have no idea what their actions will create:

"This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord" (Ezekiel 38:18). And upon that declaration, chapters 38-39 describe in great detail the various actions God will take against these invading forces and their homelands. It isn't pretty.

In their ignorance of the God of the Holy Bible - they blindly proceed exactly as foretold by the ancient prophetic scriptures. They will know what hit them - only it will be too late:

"And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord." (Ezekiel 38:23).

They also missed Proverbs 1:7

"Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline"

AMEN.
