And then the lawless one will be revealed..."

The "restrainer" refers to the Holy Spirit. This answer represents the best answer to the grammatical and contextual question.

FIRST - the "restraint" must represent a world-wide influence which suggests omnipresence. SECOND - the restrainer must have supernatural abilities in order to have the capability of restraining "evil", and THIRD - the "restrainer" must have logical rationale for ending the restraint of lawlessness.

Biblically, we know that the Holy Spirit possesses this capability - ie, to restrain evil in the world (Genesis 6:3) and in the very heart of the believer (Galatians 5:16-17).

At the time of the Rapture, this "restraint" via the Holy Spirit will be removed.

People WILL come to Christ during the Tribulation, that is clear. But thats another story - and I want to go find that well written explanation...Its in the comments somewhere in the forumScotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00403649419538752058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432851080052468710.post-43075666069696500142010-06-16T17:25:23.632-04:002010-06-16T17:25:23.632-04:00i`m curious as to the nature of the comment about ...i`m curious as to the nature of the comment about the holy spirits` removal myself. some take that to mean if you heard the gospel, rejected it then you have no further chance for salvation after the rapture.i`m curious as to what the comment was. it`s a pity screening is even necessary .hartdawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14554733830775640375noreply@blogger.com
