Democrats such as Elizabeth Warren (MA) and Dick Durbin (IL) are railing against harsh treatment of people taken into custody for the Jan. 6 Capitol “riot” you have to know something is seriously wrong.
According to the Tennessee Star, only a short drive from that Capitol is a jail where some 1,500 inmates are confined to their jail cells 22 hours per day, an increase of one hour over what it was last month. They were also prohibited from going outside.
And what of those who were at the Capitol…not necessarily inside the Capitol but at the Capitol? Well, they seem to have it much worse, having been placed in so-called “restrictive housing,” which is another word for maximum security.
While Rep. James Comer (R-KY) expressed concerns about the overall inmate population, it was actually Warren and Durbin who spoke on behalf of those locked up for the “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
“That is ultimately a violation of the 8th Amendment…is that what we can expect from a D.C. state?”
The Star reported that Comer has requested a briefing from D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser about the jail conditions, however she has not yet granted that meeting. In response, Comer issued a demand to House Oversight Committee Chairperson Carolyn Maloney to hold an emergency hearing on “these gross abuses that are happening right at our doorstep.”
Speaking specifically to those being held relative to Jan. 6, Comer’s office issued a statement which read:
“Reports that January 6 defendants, who have been charged but not yet convicted of a crime, [are] receiving even harsher treatment is equally appalling.”
What is the difference between USA Government presently, and Third World Tyrannical Rulers? Nothing anymore apparently in my opinion! Obvious created crisis's, propaganda lies spread with help with fake MSM, extreme punishment for those that have their rights violated, are Christians, have values, believe in God, Constitution, Love this Nation, and an Election with no resolution about legitimacy, Is our Gov. now Communist?? NOTED: Not saying some did wrong in incidents, don't rightly know facts, but extreme denial of rights are issues we all concerned with.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, America has turned a nasty corner, if all reputed is proven, it's time to have Million of masses turn their voices up louder, American's don't have to take this nonsense, having been in third world countries Missionary work, America is sounding like, feeling like, starting to look like, Communist Ruled, IMO! Our Forefathers warned if we fall, it's because of weakness/Traitor's, within; history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government,overly powerful governments turned oppressive, and remember this one: The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government was said by Thomas Jefferson! Those Presidents knew what could happen, we are watching Gov. do the opposite of what our Constitution stands for, and exactly what we were forewarned about by Presidents of the past! Evil says in 21st century Constitution doesn't apply, the same folks that turned from God; In my opinion, Constitution applies even more so in the 21st Century, and citizens must remember this, fearlessly! Work to do to remember and remind our Government, they work to serve American's, so why do they serve illegals/terrorists, Communist Countries, Foreign Interference in our Government Elections, etc.???
