"War With Israel Inevitable"

This comes from Iranian General Mohammad Ali Jafari, and it is consistent with the observations over the last couple of weeks involving the idea that a variety of Iranian leaders have been making the same quotes recently:

A war with Israel is practically inevitable, Iranian General Mohammad Ali Jafari said Saturday. At a meeting of the top echelon of the Revolutionary Guards, which Jafari commands, the general said that “the shameful and cancerous tumour that is Israel is seeking war against us, but it is not known when that war will happen. They now consider war as the only way to confront us, but they are so stupid that their (US) masters should stop them.
"This (war) will eventually happen as the (Islamic) revolution is moving rapidly towards its goals, and they cannot tolerate this,” Jafari was quoted as saying by Iranian media. “And finally, they will impose a war situation. Even if they (the Israelis) act rationally, this incident will happen.
"The comments were the first time Iran has acknowledged the probability of open armed conflict with Israel. Previously, it has dismissed such a scenario as bluff on the part of Israel's leaders."Everyone knows that they cannot confront the power of the Islamic republic,” he added. “But there is no guarantee of rationality, and it is possible that they will go crazy" and attack, he said

If Iran attacks first, they can not play the martyr card so as to rouse all the Islamic world's sympathy & support in retaliation on Israel. But in that case, wouldn't the U.S. HAVE to attack Iran's nuclear facilities...? Does Obama have no choice in defending Israel, in that case? Its obvious Iran is hoping to mock Israel into making a first move... So much is riding on how the first domino falls!

Yea, Christine, I've been thinking that way for a while now - thinking that Iran has been desperately baiting Israel into conflict, for that very reason, so they can play the role of martyr. And then, rally radical islam to their fold. And once that first domino falls - look out - cause the rest are coming down quickly

It is my opinion that Iran won't care if they make the first move or not. They'll play the martyr card either way.

....and after playing the martyr card the u.n. will condemn Israel for their retaliation not being "proportionate"
