King Abdullah: 'Israel Has an Expiration Date'

King Abdullah of Jordan has always been one of the most interesting 'players' to watch in the Middle East. Charismatic, intelligent, well schooled, articulate, fluent in several languages, athletic, accomplished in the military (special forces commander), and powerful ruler - he strikes one as a significant figure in the Middle East. He is also considered as a moderate leader and when he speaks people tend to listen in the region. Official website here and profile here.

These factors make the content in this next article unexpected and significant:

King Abdullah: 'Israel Has an Expiration date'

Israel Radio reported Monday morning that King Abdullah of Jordan said "Israel has an expiration date."

Abdullah's comments were reportedly made to the BBC last week. During the interview Abdullah said Israel's survival was dependent on a two-state solution. Israel does not realize it needs such a solution, he added.

Abdullah added his government would increase pressure on Israel to reach a final status agreement with the Palestinian Authority.

Abdullah added his government would increase pressure on Israel to reach a final status agreement with the Palestinian Authority.

He did not, however, provide any concrete facts to buttress his oft repeated assertion of Israel's imminent doom.

Israel remains a regional leader in the realms of economics, military, science, and technology.

Meanwhile, former defense minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said Israel cannot afford to cut the defense budget because Israel is likely to find itself in renewed conflict with Egypt in the long-run.

This may be an insignificant story, but it is definitely one to tuck away and save for later. This kind of rhetoric is unusual for King Abdullah, and it is interesting that he would come out with such a statement at this time.

Agreed, this one and his brother are interesting figures to watch. A side note is that both he and his brother have direct bloodlines that make them heir to the city of Babylon.....if it belonged to Jordan.

Several years ago an acquaintance was over there and way up the food chain in an infrastructure construction company. He attended a planning meeting with King Abdullah and several other VIPs from several countries.

He was the only Christian there but nobody knew his beliefs. Neither did they know he spoke their language.

He emerged from the meeting very shook....and said he had never felt that degree of evil before. He gave his company an ultimatum to transfer him out immediately or he would quit. He was transferred back to the USA and said these folk were planning on all the holy sites of Muslim SA (Mecca, Medina) being, again, part of their kingdom and under their family control / protection.

Think about how much back room maneuvering that little feat would probably involve.

Interesting folk...

At this late date, I hesitate to post this . . .but it appears, Butterball Turkeys are all certified as Halal Turkey. Aside from how it's killed . . ."Bismillah, erRhaman, Erahim. LaHillah ha, Muhammad ul Rasul Allah". Allah hu-Akbar" is said over the animal at the time of death. Basically means God is great and his messenger is Muhammad.

I pray it's soon . . .

Ugh! Robin, that's disgusting! But thanks for sharing...I think... ;) If mine is a Butterball (can't remember - will check later) I will pray over it before, during, and after cooking.

Caver, FASCINATING story...

Watching King Abdullah with renewed interest...

Weird that turkey comes out of their silence so suddenly. We've seen subtle hints for a while that they're not too happy with Israel, but this is kinda sudden, no?

Dylan said...

Sorry, meant Jordan. The butterball comment messed me up

Alice said...

Dylan...too funny! lol!

Turkey, Jordan, Butterball - they're ALL gonna be cooked eventually...

Speaking of turkeys, here's a different article from today on King Abdullah. Seems he's a busy, busy man...

Could he be feeling the pressure from the Muslim brother hood? Or is he doing an Erdogan and trying to broadcast a leadership image to the Arab world?.

Regarding halal meat.

Please read prayerfully 1Cor.8.

Yes, Sister Sue, that's a good reference, though I was thinking of Acts 15.

There was much in fighting in the first church about rules some of the first Christians were to follow. Even to the point, they wished to make surgery (circumcision) a requirement.

James basically stood up and said, instead, it should be made easy for gentiles to come into the church and that only a few "laws" should be observed so as not to offend the Jews who'd culturally grown up with those laws.

Acts 15:19-20:
19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

One of the very few laws, out of the 613 James proposed keeping was to abstain from food polluted by idols.

Hi Robin~

Thanks for the information on the turkey and the curses casted upon them. I believe we have all had quite the year and sitting down in the spirit of love instead of fear is what I am going to choose this fine holiday season. Not that I don't appreciate knowing about this, because it is quite the eye opener. I would hate to turn away our guests offerings in their home :) The wonderful thing about scripture is it can undo a curse by proclaiming victory and prayer on any situation in the sweet name of Jesus! I don't know about you all but I am claiming our families turkey back too! I hope you found those other scriptures helpful that you needed.

I just wanted to come and give all of you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving blessing. I had hoped we would be at the Caver's mansion but soon enough I suppose :)
Until then, just know on this very special day I will be lifting you all up in prayer. I will be wishing I was among you all and look forward to the day we can be one big happy family in Christ's presence.

Some special scriptures for you. Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless!!

Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

King Abdullah is indeed an interesting figure. Very "westernized". An accomplished pilot, married an American etc.
He has to come out and make these statements, to cover the unrest in his country. After what is referred to as "Black September" occurred in his country, Im sure the PLO is not on his list of favorite people. The PLO tried to over throw King Hussein of Jordan, and were kicked out of Jordan. King Abdullah tries to walk both sides of the fence, knowing that he has to keep the "refugees" in his country happy.
He has no future in Jordan, as Gods Word tells us in Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49...

Israel will have at least a portion of Jordan restored to them in the Isaiah 17 war. And amazingly, this is where the Jewish Believers will flee to at mid-Trib.

Isaiah 17:2
2.The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

Aroer is a region on the northern bank of the Arnon River in what is today Jordan. In Moses day, it marked the southern boundary of the territory given to the two and a half tribes who received their land inheritance on the east side of the Jordan River. Aroer was in the territory of Reuben. There was another Aroer in the territory of Gad, near Rabbah. Rabbah is today called Amman, capital of Jordan.

Mrs.C said...

Then we have Gods Judgment on Ammon.

Jeremiah 49:1-2
1.Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

2.Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.

His Word is absolutely AMAZING! Trans Jordan was created for the Arabs that chose not to become Israeli citizens. Gods Word tells us that they will be “driven out” of Jordan, (Isaiah 17:2), and as typical no other Arab nations will take them in:”none shall gather up him that wandereth”. WOW!

Jeremiah 49:5

5.Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.
