Here it is: "Responsibility to Protect" - Coming to Israel?

Many of us have been wondering if the new "Responsibility to Protect" doctrine - the driving force behind the US/EU's military action in Libya - would end up being used as an excuse to send troops into Israel (before or after a "PA State" is formed) in order to force Israel into accepting internationally dictated borders.

That time may already be upon us. If so, no time was wasted.

The Next Target After Libya?

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa served on the committee that invented the military doctrine used by President Obama as the main justification for U.S. and international airstrikes against Libya, WND has learned.

The discovery is particularly pertinent because on Sunday Moussa announced during a special meeting in Cairo that the Arab League plans to press the U.N. to impose a no-fly zone over the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip similar to the one imposed now on Libya.

This is interesting for a prophecy watcher on so many levels.

As far as the lead up to Daniel 9:27 and the "confirmation of the covenant" - we could be seeing the stage being set for the EU to ultimately send in troops (EEAS). I don't believe that the U.S. would have any involvement, based on the fact that the antichrist will come from Europe. The U.S. could be involved, however, under this scenario, but only as subservient to the EU. This is worth watching VERY closely.

Aside from the potential coming fulfillment of Daniel 9:27, another, different prophetic path could emerge from this (assuming the "no-fly zone" under the doctrine of "Responsibility to Protect" actually happens): If Israel strongly opposes this, warfare could break out almost immediately. If so, we would expect to see the scenario portrayed in Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 develop - and subsequently lead to the epic battle of Gog-MaGog (Ezekiel 38-39).

So at least two prophetic related possibilities could exist from this "no-fly" zone scenario, if established.

Moussa said he plans to present the proposal to the U.N. Security Council.

The call comes as Hamas has fired over 140 rockets into Jewish civilian population zones, prompting Israel to carry out anti-terror operations in Gaza aimed at diminishing Hamas’ rocketing capabilities.

As WND was first to report, billionaire philanthropist George Soros is a primary funder and key proponent of the Global Centre for Responsibility to Protect, the world's leading organization pushing the military doctrine. Several of the doctrine's main founders sit on multiple boards with Soros.

This is the same George Soros who is actively working to destroy the dollar and create a single world currency.

The doctrine and its founders, as WND reported, have been deeply tied to Obama aide Samantha Power, who reportedly heavily influenced Obama in consultations leading to the decision to bomb Libya. Power is the National Security Council special adviser to Obama on human rights.

Now it has emerged that Moussa served on the advisory board of the 2001 commission that originally founded Responsibility to Protect.

That commission is called the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty. It invented the term "Responsibility to Protect," while defining its guidelines.

With Power, Moussa and Ashrawi on its advisory board, the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty first defined the Responsibility to Protect doctrine.

In his address to the nation two weeks ago, Obama cited the military doctrine as the main justification for U.S. and international airstrikes against Libya.

Indeed, the Libya bombings have been widely regarded as a test of Responsibility to Protect.

This is an amazing development - and like a lot of prophetic developments, it seemed to come out of nowhere. But here it is.

Responsibility to Protect, or Responsibility to Act... is a set of principles, now backed by the United Nations, based on the idea that sovereignty is not a privilege but a responsibility that can be revoked if a country is accused of "war crimes," "genocide," "crimes against humanity" or "ethnic cleansing."

And look how easily this can apply to Israel:

The term "war crimes" has at times been indiscriminately used by various U.N.-backed international bodies, including the International Criminal Court, or ICC, which applied it to Israeli anti-terror operations in the Gaza Strip. There has been fear the ICC could be used to prosecute U.S. troops.

Two of global group's advisory board members, Ramesh Thakur and Gareth Evans, are the original founders of the "responsibility" doctrine, with the duo even coining the term "responsibility to protect."

As WND reported Soros' Open Society Institute is a primary funder and key proponent of the Global Centre for Responsibility to Protect. Also, Thakur and Evans sit on multiple boards with Soros.

How many fronts can Soros attack at one time? As this doctrine emerges, he is trying to reshape the world's financial system. He's a busy guy isn't he?

Soros himself outlined the fundamentals of Responsibility to Protect in a 2004 Foreign Policy magazine article entitled "The People's Sovereignty: How a New Twist on an Old Idea Can Protect the World's Most Vulnerable Populations."

"If governments abuse the authority entrusted to them and citizens have no opportunity to correct such abuses, outside interference is justified," Soros wrote. "By specifying that sovereignty is based on the people, the international community can penetrate nation-states' borders to protect the rights of citizens.

WND previously reported how the group has been petitioning for the U.S. to normalize ties with the Muslim Brotherhood, the main opposition in Egypt, where longtime U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak was recently toppled.

Aside from Evans and Soros, the group includes on its board Egyptian opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei, as well as other personalities who champion dialogue with Hamas, a violent offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.

It gets even deeper:

WND reported yesterday that doctrine founder Thakur recently advocated for a "global rebalancing" and "international redistribution" to create a "New World Order."

In a piece last March in the Ottawa Citizen newspaper, "Toward a new world order," Thakur wrote, "Westerners must change lifestyles and support international redistribution."

"A much-needed global moral rebalancing is in train," he added.

It is amazing just how fast things are moving right now. From the recent Middle East turmoil in the more moderate nations, who are now turning to radical Islam, to the arms build-up in the region, to the tremendous escalation in violence (complete with new weapons obtained from Russia-Iran), to the push for a PA State to be completed by September, to the EU's new EEAS being formed to now seeing the Arab League push for a "no-fly" zone under the context of "Responsibility to Protect" - right now the Middle East is moving at light speed.

And don't forget the video that is circulating in the Middle East, as prepared by Ahmadinejad's regime - a video that is telling the region to arm up and prepare for war - war which they believe will bring forth the Mahdi.

Its all a prophecy watcher can do to keep up.

And all of this can only mean one thing - Jesus is coming back soon. We have been given the signs - and the signs are coming in waves now - almost on a daily basis.

If you listen, you can almost hear the footsteps of the Messiah approaching.

Movie Predicting Shiite Messiah

Ever since I exposed the Iranian documentary The Coming is Upon Us — which promises the imminent coming of the twelfth Shiite imam, Imam Mahdi — a heated argument has been taking place within the Iranian establishment. There is panic and concern over the coverage of the movie in the West.

It is important to note that in the video, Grand Ayatollah Khomeini — the founder of the Islamic Republic — is quoted as saying that he had three goals for Iran:

1. Overthrowing the shah

2. Establishing an Islamic state

3. Creating the situation for the return of the last imam

Please note that items #1 and #2 have already been accomplished. We are now watching radical Islam in the Middle East preparing for attempts at #3. The "situation" is epic war in and around Israel. A war that seems imminent.

It goes on to say that the one following him will be the one to pass the flag of Islam to Imam Mahdi for the conquest of the world by Islam. There is also a quote claiming Khomeini personally told Ayatollah Khamenei that he will be the one to bring about the End of Times and the final glorification of Allah.

While the Iranian leaders are scrambling to stop the damage caused by the publicity over this video, it is important to note: they truly believe their mission to destroy Israel and bring about the reappearance of Imam Mahdi.

About the Muslim messiah returning after the last battle. That sounds very similar to Jesus returning to intervene at armaggedon. It seems they've taken biblical prophecy and turned it into their own for an excuse to attack israel.

My head is spinning after reading that list of end time happenings Scott!

The "right to protect" is something that on the surface sounds decent but in the hands of these guys is pure evil. I just can't imagine they would ever attempt to impose a no fly zone on Israel similar to Lybia. I'm not sure how the UN's involvement would fit in either the Great Middle East war or the gog-magog war. European countries are not mentioned in either war are they? Maybe Germany in the Ezekiel war?

Thoughts?

Hi All, I have some questions. What will happen in the 70th week?
Can somebody explain to me whether the 70th week and the 7 year great tribulation are the same thing? Is the 70th week happen before or after the 7 year great tribulation? What's the difference between the 70th week and the 7 year great tribulation? Thanks All...

I think most here would agree that the 70th week is what Revelation is a detailed report about. Rev. adds a preface: that between the Rapture and the signing of the covenant that begins the final 7 years, there are seal judgments. Personally, I believe the Gog/Magog, Ps. 83, Ezk. 38 activities will be part of those seal judgments.

Scott, have you seen this from a few years ago?

The series (book) "read this before it's banned" or Appolyon Rising is very interesting. I made a PDF of it if you want, though I'd have to email it to you.

Dylan - The Islamic prophecy isn't actually in the Koran, and there is a lot of variance in what they believe. Having said that, they commonly borrow from the Bible, only usually, as in this case, its all upside-down.

Many people believe that the AC will be one and the same as the Mahdi. I'm not so sure about that for a variety of reasons.

WV - if I really let my mind wander, I can make a case that the whole Libya thing was simply to set the stage (and have a precedent) for doing the same to Israel. It wouldn't surprise me if it was part of a larger plan involving Israel - to have "the nations" come to an acceptance of this policy first, and then move on to Israel. Stranger things have happened.

Mike - the 70th week is the same as the 7 year tribulation - also known as the time of Jacob's trouble, which is also a reference to the Tribulation.

Its the last 7 years on the Jewish 490 years as described in Daniel 9. The clock stopped on passion weeks as the Nation of Israel rejected the Messiah. The clock "stopped" with 7 years remaining. It begins again when the AC "confirms" the covenant with "the many".

Paula - I did read that, it was a great read....As far as Gog-MaGog, I can see a scenario in which it would happen VERY early in the Tribulation - IMO if it does happen during the Trib, I believe it would be in the first 45 days or so, because I believe the "burning of the weapons" will not extend into the 1,000 year reign of Christ

Hi Scott-just a quick question. I always sorta thought that the gog-magog war might start prior to the tribulation. but just prior! i had envisioned God's hand crushing Israels opponents. Afterwards everyone rushes to sign the peace treaty. I of course could be totally wrong here. Is there anything in the Bible that I missed possibly saying wether or not the trib starts prior to or after gog magog war? Ive looked but cant find anything? Thanks so much!-ally

Ally, I think you have it nailed. That's the way we see it too. Plus, in Isiah 17, which we think will happen first, they flee far off (I believe to the North). When we get to Gogg/Magog we see him gathering up those that fled before coming together.

No, we are in agreement I believe. We are out of here in the great "Poof" before Gogg/Magog is over....at the latest.

Personally, I'm ready to fly now.

I think a possible scenario is that the Rapture at this time would be the trigger or "sign" that Iran is waiting for. They already see the chaos and the weakness of the West, but surely the disappearance of so many Christians would be to them a sign to pull the trigger.

Scott said...

Ally - thats exactly how I see it.

Paula - interesting observation regarding Iran. I recall years ago, many of us thought the Rapture would be THE tipping point - and now it has so many other tipping points to compete with!

So Scott, where do you see Psalm 83? I guess I always saw that as happening before Gog-MaGog...

A penny for your thoughts.

Alice
I've been thinking (as have many others) that Psa 83/Isa17 will lead into Gog-MaGog. Its hard to see it the opposite, because Radical Islam in the surrounding areas will be so decimated by Gog-MaGog (and there are other reasons as well) - but a likely scenario seems to be that Northern Israel gets hit hard (Isa 17) and in the process the battle between Israel - Lebanon-Gaza-Syria-Egypt(?) and probably Jordan will take place.
(I put these in questions because there isn't a lot of agreement on Egypt's involvement. I tend to think so but some others do not see Egypt.

FWIW - I'm in the school of thought that sees Psa 83 as a prayer - or petition for God to make good on Genesis 12:3 and protect Israel from these invaders. He appears to do so initially through Israeli forces, and then, later when Gog-MaGog comes around, Israel is too weakened and God must protect them.
In that same school of thought, Isa 17 could be the answer to that prayer - and then later, God's divine intervention in Ezekiel 38-39.

Thats how I see it anyway
